The webinar discusses the practical approach taken to raise the level of organisation PMO maturity within Eastern Province Municipality KSA. There has been a limited success within the Kingdom and it is now a prerequisite for all ministries to establish PMO governance.

 

A PMO methodology was adapted to aid efficiency, transparency and accountability with a bottom-up approach that builds on previous PMO failures and takes realistic views of the organisational issues to improve and meet legislative drivers within the context of PMO principles and a maturity value framework.

 

This new approach is presented with (end to end) process management and control of operational performance activities. The results of this work indicate a positive correlation through process orientation, process mapping and process standardization to raise the organisation to level 3. This insight shoes that organisations must (i) map and describe existing processes as a basis for decision support (ii) and take time to enhance the process orientation of their employees: the point is to get the basics in order independent of the agreed type of change in the level of maturity within a governance environment.

 

However, raising the maturity level further, although discussed, may require a different approach in terms of adaptive agility, but this needs to be tested.
